The “important” tag has zero meaning to me. Sometimes even newsletters put it on every single mail while actually important things come in without it. I read everything regardless so the tag is only distracting me. How can I hide it?
Menu > View > Columns
Click on Priority , then Remove
there is no “priority” column there for me, but I already figured that “category” was the one i had to remove instead. http://puu.sh/xAr35/9c99a993a5.png

Ah yes. You are viewing messages in Conversations. Priority is not available in that view.
