I have the latest eMClient (free version); need to export a distribution list to gMail for times when I am away from my computers and need that same list of contacts.

I am sorry this is not possible because Google does not support distribution lists. If you create a distribution list in eM Client it will be uploaded to Google only as a simple contact, but if you will then download it to another eM Client it will be recognized as distribution list.
