As the title states I am trying to figure out how to store my emails. I am switching hosts, consequently my mail servers are switching as well but I’d like to get all the emails off the old server first. I am logged in using POP but I’m not sure what to do next. I fear that changing my account settings to the new server will lose all my old emails, so I’m assuming I’ll need to create a new account. But the old one will soon become inactive and will start throwing authentication errors that I don’t want. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
a POP account should have your emails downloaded locally, so a server change should not remove your emails (unless you remove your account from eM Client), seeing as you are not synchronizing with the server but just downloading new data.
You can however enable Local folders in Tools>Settings>Show local folders and copy your messages there to be sure you have a local copy that won’t be deleted by the server.
