How can I COPY then PASTE selected emails including normal 'header' data & body of text?

It is ESSENTIAL that I be able to easily COPY the whole of a given email into clipboard, including normal ‘to / from / subject / time / email addresses shown’ header data, and the text of the email itself, and then PASTE the TEXT into my own archives, or my documents.  So far, I can only COPY/PAST the body of the email, and then have to grope around the header to get that too and concatenate parts to save the email.  How do I easily grab email header+text data into my clipboard, and past that text wherever I want it?  And - NO - archiving all my emails in your folders is not an option.

Hi,
I guess this could be accomplished in different ways, I’d suggest clicking the Reply or Forward button, which will open a new message window with the Header data attached above the body.
Or generating a print preview could also work.

Regards,
Olivia

Thank you, Olivia -

This is a helpful but not very elegant work around: hitting the REPLY or FORWARD button brings up a new message that I can copy/paste.  Then I’ve got to be careful not to inadvertently REPLY or FORWARD … raising additional concerns.  The Print Preview does not work … one simply cannot scrape / copy the text from print preview.  And printing to a PDF and then trying to grab text to the PDF is even more kludge.

I do hope the next iteration of eM Client builds in a quick, easy, GRAB THIS type button that grabs the header + text data + list of attachments, if any.

It is critical that email for real people doing significant exchanges (commercial, personal, whatever) NOT simply be archived in massive lump folders that only get more unmanageable over time, and NOT simply be discarded. It is critical to have an obvious simple COPY/PASTE function in adult level email clients.

Thanks, again, for temporary workaround -
Frank

Hi,
you do not need to worry about accidentally Forwarding, as the To: field is empty. (The concern for Reply is valid though, so don’t use that one, I guess).
You could also open the full Mail Source (right click > View Mail source) and copy all that data from here.

I’ll change your forum topic to an Idea thread so our developers can consider adding another mail viewing option for the cases you mention.

Regards,
Olivia

Thank you for keeping my concerns alive, Olivia …
The VIEW MAIL SOURCE is not an option in any practical sense.
Here is what your email today to me looks like:

Hi,
yes, I understand that the mail source could be useful only for plain text emails, as with HTML elements it will seem cluttered, but I just wanted to offer another option.
I think the Forward workaround is the best choice for you now.
Since this is an idea thread, our developers can consider making this an option in the future.

Olivia
