Hi,
Since upgrading to eM Client 11 (currently 11.0.1267, Windows), emails sent from an alias on my personal Hotmail account are saved in the Sent folder with my primary address in the From field instead of the alias.
Setup:
- Personal Microsoft account (@hotmail.com), migrated to MS Graph during the v11 first-run migration
- Account > General > Services shows only “Microsoft Graph” (greyed out, no SMTP option)
- Alias added via the Aliases… button, and also configured in my Microsoft account
Steps to reproduce:
- Compose a new email and select the alias in the From field
- Send it
- Open the message in the Sent folder
Expected: From shows the alias
Actual: From shows the primary @hotmail.com address
[What the recipient sees: alias / primary address]
This worked correctly in version 10. As I understand from the “Making Outlook aliases work” thread, this exact issue was fixed in 10.3.2545 by switching outlook.com sending from AirSync back to SMTP. After the v11 migration, sending goes through Graph, so it looks like Microsoft is replacing the From address again.
Could you either fix alias sending on Graph accounts, or add an option to send via SMTP on Graph accounts like in v10? I’d rather not re-add the account as IMAP and lose calendar/contacts sync.
Thanks!
