This is a new install (2 days move from TB) running on Win 7 - 4GB RAM - I am a very heavy email user minimum 200 emails a day with multiple accounts, currently using imap accessing 3 servers.
Some emails are taking 2 minutes to load - HTML but no significant graphics - these emails come daily and have never been a problem.
Database had to rebuild this morning due to shutdown error 
This is intolerable it will take me 3 hours to check my overnight emails
I don’t know if this is related but if I exit and re-open files marked as read previously are unread - then do it again and some are again unread- not all. I think I will give up on imap and switch back to pop
Then I tried importing ics calendar file 213kb - which hung so I clicked Cancel and is no just sitting there freezing the application
I guess I go back to the drawing board on this on
I currently have two windows with “This operation may take a while to complete - Please be patient.” One has been there for 10 minutes the other is an email that my CRM auto generated and it trying to send . System monitor reports no activity on the application so it is frozen.
There is no provision to cancel these processes without crashing the application - which then wants another 10 minutes to rebuild the database.
Now I can’t reopen - I get “Communication with previous instance failed…” I check system monitor and there is no other instance that I can identify as emclient … UPDATE about 2 minutes later 2 instances appeared on SM
Have I got a corrupt install - it was ok yesterday
Finally have it running using Pop and backed up folders - appears to be stable 
I am glad you have resolved it, but I would like to know what version of eM CLient are you using?

I am not sure why this is marked as solved - I still have the problem that emClient waits until the image is loaded before I can either view or mark as read and I realise the slow image is the sending server problem but it still takes up to 2 minutes to load or mark as read . In frustration I am deleting emails that maybe I shouldn’t
It has been solved in our internal version so you can expect fix for this in the version 5.0 which should be released in a few weeks.
