Hide my email - problems

I’m using emClient with my icloud email, but when I reply to a message sent to a “hide my email” address it remains in the Outbox (it is not sent). Anybody have this problem? Any suggestions?

Thanks,

I’m using emClient with my icloud email, but when I reply to a message sent to a “hide my email address it remains in the Outbox (it is not sent.

Could be eM Client doesn’t support that or might need to be entered specially for sending that.

Can you elaborate on a “hide my email” address. Is that different to a normal mailbox email address ? Is the hide my email address a permanent address or an alias email address to a physical mailbox.

Can you reply and send ok to any other address? As if you carnt then might just be a problem with sending mail in general stuck in the outbox which might then be related to eg: Antivirus email scanning interfering with the Outbox mail.

I just tried to use emClient with icloud mail.

I can confirm replying to emails sent originally with an “Hide my Email” address does work. It is important to have IMAP and SMTP configured for the iCloud account. Apple’s server seems to resolve the iCloud email address and replaces it with the “Hide my Email” address when sending it to the recipient.

Happy New Year, I might be mistaken, but iCloud has 2 modes of choice for Email addresses. A permanent Alias, of which you can have only 5 and Hide My Mail, of which you can have many more (I have 50+)… emClient to this day does not support sending Emails “FROM” a Hide My Mail (HMM) address. The only thing that works, are one of those 5 Aliases. I have tried adding a HMM address to the “Aliases” Settings of the account to no avail. It allows me to select the address from the list in the From field, but the server then goes about rejecting the request for sending stating the address does not belong to me… It may well be that HMM is restricted to certain operations (like filling in forms, login with apple, etc.) and is not suited or intended to be used as an actual FROM address for day to day Email communications. Anyone could confirm this, might actually help overcome my frustration
