Help with eM Client Pop3 Error

Hi all,

Every few days/few weeks it seems without fail I’m constantly getting a POP3 error failing to connect to the server. Some days this simply doesn’t happen, then others I cannot check my emails for days.

I thought I had it all figured out a few weeks ago when I added eM client as an exception to my firewall but it seems this isn’t the case.

I can send emails ok, just not receive.

Log is as follows:

Any advice would be appreciated.

There are errors associated with AVG in your log.

When you say you added an exception to your firewall, was that the AVG firewall?

Hi Gary - that’s correct.

I also see there is something happening with SABnzbd.exe as well. I’m not tech enough to know exactly what this error line is saying however?

Still not having any luck with this. :frowning:

The clue lies in the log: concurrent connection limit in AVG exceeded. A little Googling and it is confirmed that AVG sets a limit to 50 connections, which has been exceeded.

The solution provided by AVG is:

The maximum amount of connections can be changed in the C:\ProgramData\Avg\Antivirus\EmailShield.ini file. Just add the information below to the file and save it:
[EmailScanner]
MaxConnections=100

It may be necessary to disable the AVG Self Protection first before changing any value. To disable “AVG Self Protection” follow the below steps:

Open AVG Internet Security/AntiVirus free->Menu->Settings->Troubleshooting->Uncheck “Enable AVG Self Protection”.

Give that a go, and see what happens.
