hello, im trying to open my email and a message comes up and said " server said authentication failed"

Check you are using the correct password.

If the password is correct, one possibility is that the settings are incorrect. Go to Menu > Tools > Accounts, and click on the IMAP tab for your account.

For Port 993, select Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)
For Port 143, select Use SSL/TLS if available
