Having notifications on the task bar and a sound

My notifications appear to be set correctly, but I’m not receving a flag on the taskbar icon for new mail arrival, or a sound when new mail arrives.
I’m brand new to eM so any help gratefully received.

Check your eM Client settings > General > Notifications > Incoming mail does not have red x’s

Check your Windows settings (Windows 11 image below) that Notifications are on generally and for eM Client

If you have a Mac, apart from enabling the Incoming mail & sound notifications etc in eM Client, you enable the dock bar (taskbar) “badge notification & sound notification” via OS Settings as in the example below.
