Working on latest version with Mac app
not working for me on Windows. Any update regarding this?
It would be helpful if the development team could:
a) provide a timeframe for the next eMClient for Windows update
b) clarify if Grammarly will work within the eMClient interface.
Thank you.
That is something you will need to ask Grammarly.
They blacklisted eM Client because of some technical difficulties they are having. I am sure once they resolve their issues, they will allow their utility to be used with eM Client again, or they won’t. But it is their decision.
It is unfortunate that as a eMClient user, I am left caught in the middle of a dispute.
The above answer is not helpful to find a solution.
We have no dispute with Grammarly.
But for some reason Grammarly decided to blacklist our application. We believe from user comments above that it has to do with some technical issues on their side, but they have not replied to our attempts to contact them, so it is unclear. Unfortunately we have no control over their decision, but we would of course welcome the opportunity for our users to take advantage of their service again should they decide to allow it.
As a Grammarly user, your best option is to reach out to Grammarly directly and ask them for assistance as you have done before. Only they can advise you if they plan to remove that restriction or not.
I’m sure it won’t help but I reached out to grammarly support.
Edit:
Their response:
“Unfortunately, Grammarly doesn’t currently support integration with eM Client due to performance issues, but thank you for letting us know that this is something you’d like to see. You can rest assured that your comments have been shared with our development team.”

Having seen numerous post concerning this latest reply is possibly a euphemism!

Grammarly provided this info for the emclient devs:
Apparently my support has expired. Can anyone share the link with the devs? It probably isn’t much help but it can’t hurt to share.
Yes, we have always met those requirements and that is why Grammarly worked before.
Thanks. I’ll update grammarly with that info.
FWIW, Grammarly was working with the eM Client application, on Mac, up until sometime recently. There is no “blacklist” of eM Client by the Grammarly application. And here is why. When composing an email and I select the To: field, the Grammarly helper is shown in the bottom right corner of the window. When I select the Subject field, the Grammarly helper is shown in the bottom right corner of the window. When I select the Body field, the Grammarly helper is NOT shown.
So, this appears to be on eM Client side and the accessibility features/settings for the Body field.
We appreciate the feedback, but all the fields are set up correctly - Grammarly used to work in all fields, until Grammarly blacklisted eM Client on Windows, which they confirmed in responses to other users.
Since we implemented the program to work with accessibility programs such as screen readers, all the needed settings for the text fields to be available to other apps to either spell-check or read out loud are already included.
We would love to cooperate to make Grammarly work again, but we did not receive any details on what to change - only the repeated link on how to integrate Grammarly, where we already follow all the mentioned predispositions.
If you have any closer info on what exactly needs to be changed or if Grammarly support told you they would give us this info, we’d appreciate it and would give that a try, we can be reached by anyone at [email protected]
@Olivia_Rust I keep hearing that Grammarly “blacklisted” eM Client. But that is not exactly true. As I stated earlier , Grammarly works in the To and Subject fields, just not the Body field. So, this means they “blacklisted” a specific field? Furthermore, I’m on macOS.
I posted screenshots of Grammarly working in the stated fields but @Gary removed my post displaying that.
The block is from Grammarly’s side and they have confirmed it - the very first post in this thread mentions the exact quote from Grammarly support.
Please keep in mind that at first, after Grammarly made their desktop app, it worked with the Windows and macOS version of eM Client just fine. We already follow all the prerequisites that Grammarly requires on their web.
They changed this and did not give us any reason why - we did not receive any specifics on what to change or any warnings before the app just stopped working - Grammarly’s advice could easily resolve it, in some support threads other users shared they also mention working on some of their own fix.
We keep testing if anything changes from Grammarly’s side, and at first, only fields in our Windows app were blocked, while macOS version continued working (as visible in earlier comment from NJRonbo ). You now mention you have the issue in body on macOS - that sounds like rather than unblock the Windows version, Grammarly is starting to block the macOS version too, just haven’t been able to detect all fields yet.
We would love to resolve this and make Grammarly work on both (I use Grammarly myself and do miss the time it worked with our app), but we do not have a direct channel with them - and we just keep asking the paying users of Grammarly to kindly have them reach out to us if we can change anything from our side. So far we did not receive any response.
I am at a loss at what to share with you about the situation. I posted links the appropriate information here in the form. They were taken down and I was reprimanded for posting such links.
In short, maybe the team at eMClient should hire a mediator and work with Grammarly Team to solve the problem. This is not a user problem. It is a eMClient and Grammarly problem that requires both firms to work together to find a solution.
Very sad to see the problem remains unresolved.
I’m going to sit out any further conversation on the topic.
Jerry
Well, we have tried to contact Grammarly on multiple levels several times. All these attempts have been ignored from Grammarly side or a generic email (really not helpful) has been sent. We are just desperate here and we are not able to do anything more if they don’t communicate at all. So the only way from our perspective is a pressure from Grammarly users to force them to at least to communicate with us about the issue. We would really love to have Grammarly support back, but it is a black box for us.

Personally I have no interest in using or the availability of Grammarly, however, browsing their site I came across this notice indicating changes; I do not know if there is any relevance but here is a link anyway:
