Hi there,
I received an email for each of my 3 Gmail accounts (POP and IMAP account access) as follows:-
“Google
On May 30, you may lose access to apps that are using less secure sign-in technology
To help keep your account secure, Google will no longer support the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign in to your Google Account using only your username and password. Instead, you’ll need to sign in using Sign in with Google or other more secure technologies, like OAuth 2.0.
What do you need to do?
Email software, like Outlook 2016 or earlier, has less secure access to your Gmail. Switch to Office 365, Outlook 2019 or newer, or any other email software where you can sign in using Sign in with Google”
I currently have Microsoft Outlook 2010 (yes I know
) so no doubt is classed as “less secure access” and will not be able to access/download my emails from my gmail accounts.
Before I go ahead and pay for a Licence for eM Client Pro For Individuals, I would like to know that if I am going to use eM Client, will this be a “more secure app” and access my gmail accounts as currently, downloading my emails?
Many thanks
Gary
See eM Client support article on the subject.

If you are setting up eM Client 7, 8 or 9 on PC or Mac, as a brand new Google Workspace IMAP account, then see this eM Client support link below to setup eM Client automatically with OAuth via the automatic email wizard.

Ps if you have eg: Win 10 / 11 or Big Sur / Mac Monterey suggest to use eM Client V9 or (Min V8) to avoid any issues, and make sure you do all your OS patches & security updates etc.
Google’s own support info about the changes for Less Secure POP authentication without OAuth. So basically you need to move all your Gmail POP accounts to IMAP in eM Client.

Google also have options for 2Step verification with App Passwords, but you don’t need that with eM Client V7, 8 or 9 with automatic OAuth setup.

Thank you cyberzork, much appreciated.
I will read through the support links.
I have my Outlook 2010 email on an old Win 7 Desktop PC

I have eM Client Version 9.0.1708 installed on a Trial basis soon to expire and was contemplating paying for Licence. When I installed, I imported my gmail settings from my Outlook and all 3 accounts were POP, so if I understand you correctly, I would need change these all to IMAP, both within my Google Gmail Accounts settings and in eM Client?
If I recall and to my best of knowledge, I disabled 2Step verification within my Google Gmail accounts.
Thank you, I will read through the links provided and see how I go.
Cheers
Gary
