I’m experiencing an issue with the Google Birthdays calendar in eM Client for macOS.
Environment
- Application: eM Client 11.0.1389+8b6849e86c
- Operating system: macOS
- Account type: Gmail / Google Workspace integration
- Services enabled: IMAP, SMTP, Google Calendar, Google Contacts and Google Settings
Problem description
My Google Contacts contain birthday information, which Google Calendar automatically displays in its dedicated “Birthdays” calendar.
This calendar works correctly in Google Calendar on the web, and the birthdays are also visible in Microsoft Outlook using the same Google account.
However, the Birthdays calendar is completely missing from eM Client.
Troubleshooting already performed
- Verified that the Birthdays calendar exists and displays events in Google Calendar on the web.
- Confirmed that Google Calendar and Google Contacts synchronization are enabled in eM Client.
- Reauthorized the Google account after encountering authentication errors.
- Restarted eM Client, which resolved the authentication warning.
- Checked the calendar list and the “Show/Hide Folders” dialog. Only the main Calendar, Swedish Holidays and Week Numbers calendars are listed.
- Reviewed Google Calendar account settings and folder properties without finding any relevant options.
Questions
I understand that support for Google birthday calendar folders was introduced in eM Client 11.0.1267.
- Does this support include the automatically generated Birthdays calendar populated from Google Contacts?
- Is there any additional configuration required to enable this calendar?
- Is this a known issue in version 11.0.1389 for macOS?
- Is there a recommended workaround or fix?
I would prefer to keep birthdays synchronized automatically from Google Contacts rather than manually creating recurring calendar events.
