Google calendar sync issue - Invalid URI: The hostname could not be parsed.

Brand new install of eM Client 7.2.35000.0 on MacOS Catalina 10.15.2. Repeated error messages trying to sync Google Calendar due to "Invalid URI: The hostname could not be parsed."

Tried deleting account and adding back with no effect.

Hello Bob,

Thank you for reporting this.
It seems that there is a synchronization issue between eM Client and the Gmail folder. Please try removing the Gmail account and re-configure it in Menu > Tools > Accounts > Add account.

Russel

Hi - I have deleted the account and re-added. The same error persists.
However, I notice that when adding the account back again, the New Account dialogue box states that “In order to use your calendar account you have to access it using the web interface first.”

How do I go about that via the eM Client?

I actually remember reading that somewhere, maybe on this forum. All you need to do it go to the calendar at  https://www.google.com/calendar. Login at least once.

I’ve been Google Calendar web interface in the browser pretty constanty. I have logged out and back in - no joy I’m afraid. Wonder if there is something else?
