Google Birthday Calendar

Why has the option to display birthdays that show in my synced Google Calendar disappeared?

The only options available are Calendar and Holidays in United Kingdom even though I’ve got Birthdays checked in the actual Google Calendar.

Same here. It also vanished from my Samsung default Calendar on my phone, BUT it is still available on the Google Calendar app on my phone. It looks like Google changed something last week. Hopefully the folks here with eM Client will figure out what happened and implement a solution.

Yes the Google Birthday calendar “also dissapeared for me too” using the latest V10, but yes is still showing in Google Calendar online.

Same here, birthdays dissapeared from emclient calendar while they exist in google calendar. Tried reset account, repair but still not there.

Gone for me too. I hope it’s reinstated soon.

Very strange and frustrating indeed. I have two PCs running eM Client. On mine, the Google birthday symbol is missing. On my wife’s, it is still there and shows birthdays.

If I open Google Calendar on my PC, the birthday symbol is displayed, but there aren’t any birthdays. It looks like they all have been deleted. This is just crazy. I need my birthdays!

See post below from eM Client that “this is currently a Google issue” & no eta at this stage.

“Gmail accounts - Birthday calendar no longer synchronized”

Posted by Olivia Rust on 16 December 2024 16:57
On December 6th 2024 some Google accounts stopped showing Birthday calendar.

“Unfortunately, the calendar is fully missing from the Calendar data we receive which is why the eM Client app cannot show it”.

“Birthday calendar is a special type of calendar so there is unfortunately no easy way to share it from the web interface and use it as an Internet calendar.
So far we noticed that Google accounts set to other languages (such as Czech) on the Google server are not affected as often as those set in English”.

At this point, we can only wait for Google to resolve this strange error.

Other apps that use Google Calendar via CalDAV protocol (and not via Calendar API as eM Client) are seeing Birthday events inside the main calendar instead of a dedicated Birthday calendar.

I just noticed this today. It may have happened earlier, but I’m realizing it now. Posting here so I can be kept updated on fixes.

I wonder if this is also related to the fact that “Out of Office” time does not show up in eM Client as well?
