I have been a very happy eM Client user for about 18 months. My laptop’s hard drive recently failed and needed to be replaced. I am now in the process of restoring everything from my backups, so today I downloaded and installed eM Client again.
Here’s the problem: eM Client opens, and from what I can tell all my accounts and folders are there. It then starts downloading messages from some of my accounts, but then tells me that the identity of one of the accounts can’t be verified, and brings up the error message: “Going offline. This operation may take a while to complete.” I have let it run for several hours, eventually forced it to quit and tried again, but I keep getting the same problem.
Any suggestions …?
PS: I paid for version 5 last year. Is there any way of downloading v5 somewhere instead of having to pay for an upgrade? No offense, but 5 worked perfectly for me …)
can you download this tool (http://www.emclient.com/tools/emstackdump.exe) and run it when the application gets stuck on the “This operation may take a while” popup?
It will generate a stack dump file on your computer, can you send me this file to email@example.com with a reference link to this forum topic?
You can also download the latest release of version 5 here: http://www.emclient.com/dist/v5.0.20009/setup.msi
Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience,
Thanks for your help. Mail with stack dump file heading your way.
Hi Again Paul,
I have now reinstalled Client version 5.0.20009 and everything is running perfectly!
Thanks very much for your help.
Hi Adam, glad to hear that, if you come across any other issues or questions let us know, we’ll be happy to help.
Also thank you for the received dump file, we’ll be looking into the issue originally posted, and hopefully it will help us to improve eM Client in future releases.
Thank you for reporting this,
I’m having the same problem. I can’t install the version listed above, since I apparently am already on a later version. Any suggestions?
If you want to download an older release of eM Client, you have to remove your current installation and install the older release after uninstalling.
I have the same problem. Just hangs on reinstall on Going Offline. Have downloaded the stack dump. Particularly annoying as I have just paid you again for the upgraded version, as a mark of goodwill.
Who will look at the stack dump?
