Goes Offline but Doesn't Show It Is

Version 8.0.2951 / Windows 10

I’ve been using EMC for years and this problem suddenly started a couple weeks ago.

It goes offline and will not send or receive but the red triangle does not show suggesting it thinks it’s online and there’s no way I can find to force it online. My only indication is mail stalls in my outbox. If I exit the program and bring it back it’s totally fine. It seems to happen after not using the computer for a period of time and/or if I enter sleep mode (desktop).

I do not use Windows Firewall, Defender (forced off in Windows policy) or any third party security software. I trust my router and myself.

I have the same thing, but only when I come out of Hibernation. After a while it returns to normal.

Can you upgrade to the latest version in the Release History and see if there is any difference.

Thanks Gary. Did the update and a quick test by putting it to sleep then wake and outbox continues to stall, all in under a minute.

I see your edit. Did this just happening for you in the last couple weeks, month?

For me it’s sleep, not hibernate.

Issue is, I forget about the problem, send a very importand email, walk away. On return learn it never sent.

Really strange, I use Hibernate & Sleep and have never had the problem on my main laptop, however, it sometimes happens on my test machine.
Main computer is running Windows 10 Pro Workstation 1909
Test machine is running Windows 10 Pro 20H2

Yes, it is a fairly recent thing. I am not sure which version it started with, but it was not there with the release of version 8.

I have now got into the habit that I automatically close and reopen eM Client after coming out of hibernation.
