Godaddy Exchange server will not accept my userid/password

I have emclient 9.2.1735 (3d90379). I have just installed the latest version
It just keeps asking me for my userid/password. I know these are correct because it works with outlook on my phone

Could be either your server account now uses an eg: OAuth token and not a password, or you have the wrong eg: server acct Exchange settings.

Did you use the automatic email wizard acct setup, or did you manually setup the account?

If you manually setup the account, what is the Exchange acct tab settings. Blank out anything personal.

This has been working for ages and has just stopped working today. It works on my phone using outlook and it works when i access it via a browser.

Ok. I added another account of the same email address and it works. How do i delete the old one without losing all my emails?

Normally if you re-add “the same exchange” account with the same email address, your same mail messages and message folders “will just automatically appear” under the new account within a short time after the account is added.

You don’t normally loose any old mail as it’s all stored on the server remote mailbox end & not local. The mailbox only caches locally in eM Client.

So once the same exchange account then populates with your same messages, you just manually remove the old same exchange account.

Note: It’s only POP type mail accounts where you have to drag old acct mail to the same new POP acct so you don’t loose old mail, due to POP accounts (by default) delete mail from the server after downloading to the client.

Note: Before removing your old exchange account as a precaution, best to allways backup eM Client via the “Menu / Backup” just incase you need to restore for any reason.

Ok That seems to have worked. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it

It is because Exchange servers no longer accept username/password logins. Adding the account using the automatic setup will use oAuth (passwordless) so that is why it now works.
