Gmails no longer received

For three days AVAST has been continuously alerting me about blocking threat ‘e-Mail’; I allowed it to ‘move to quarantine’, but that did not solve the problem. Quarantine shows numerous entries for HTML:ExtortMail-HF[Phish], with original location \e-Mail. I have scanned the PC with Malwarebytes Antimalware and it found no threats. Now incoming Gmail is no longer received, although emails CAN be sent. My system is x32Win10ProV22H2 and v10.3.1738(984d31d) is the
version, which I think installed very recently.

The continuous alerting mentioned above is NOT new to me. It has occurred several times over the past few years, and then abated.

How can U restore proper functioning ?

Suggest to try “completely disabling Avast” and then close and reopen eM Client and see if you then receive your Gmail. As Avast “has been know to sometimes interfere with eM Client” for alot of users. Avast could also be giving you false positives.

If it then works with Avast disabled, then suggest to re-enable Avast and “disable the email scanning part of Avast” so its still resident in memory, but not interferring with the mail receiving.

If disabling Avast to test still doesn’t receive Gmail, then suggest to go to “Menu / Accounts” and try removing and re-adding your Gmail account using the automatic account wizard at the top.

Suggest you contact Avast technical support who can advise on any viruses detected with their program, and how to remove them if they are actual viruses etc.

After something forced me to reboot, emails were downloaded again.
I’ll contact Avast.
