Hi, I use GMail IMAP however in order to avoid “on behalf of” being added to my outgoing emails, I use non-GMail SMTP. How do I add SMTP settings to 8.1 in IMAP like I can in POP?
You do it the same way. Go to Menu > Accounts and select your Gmail account. In the General tab, change the name and email address to your non-Gmail ones. This is the name and address that will appear in the messages you send and has nothing to do with retrieving messages by IMAP.
Then click on the SMTP tab.
Delete the Gmail SMTP host and fill in your non-Gmail SMTP server address. Tick Use these credentials and then fill in your non-Gmail user name and password.
