Gmail- invalid credentials (failure)

I have two gmail IMAP accounts that I access via EM client on my desktop.

Today one of the accounts stopped working giving the message: Server Says “Invalid Credentials (Failure)”.
The other gmail address still works fine.

I have upgraded to the most recent version EM Client (8.2.1721).
I have quadruple checked the login name and password.
I verified that it is using Port 993 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy).

I can login and access the account directly through the gmail site.
I can send and receive on this gmail address via Iphone mail.

I cannot send or receive via desktop using EM Client.

I would appreciate some help resolving this problem.

Thanks, zeus88

Also clicked on Account > Diagnostics > Diagnose > Fix.

After much spinning of gears it says “cannot fix”.

Suggest if you haven’t already “reboot your computer” as might be something in temporary or resident memory causing the spinning wheel.

Failing that if you have been doing backups in eM Client via either “Menu / Backup” manually, or automatic periodic backups via “Menu / Settings / General / Backup” to then try restoring a recent eM Client backup via “Menu / File / Restore”. The latest dated backup should appear at the top.

However if you have no eM Client backups, then suggest to do a manual backup and then go to “Menu / Accounts” and remove the Gmail account that’s not working and re-add via the “automatic email wizard” which should then fix it.

Once all working do a new backup in eM Client.

It was an O Auth issue.

I created a new account, using the gmail button to login via google.

Back in business.
