Can I set up a gmail account but then change to a different smtp service? I can see where to put in a different smtp server but not a username and password.
Please let me know how to accomplish this.
That is because the account with Gmail is setup using Oauth, which is using a single authentication process for both IMAP and SMTP. That method does not allow you to specify individual settings for each protocol.
You will need to remove the account from eM Client, then set it up again using the manual IMAP setup.
You will be able to specify the SMTP settings during the setup, or edit them afterwards.
Note that with this method, other Google services like Calendar, Contacts and Out of Office settings will not be available. The Calendar and Contacts will have to be setup separately.
