emClient requires xml certificate. Gdata delivers GDataRootCertificate.crt / GDataRootCertificate.pem format? How can I install a gdata certificate?
How can I install a gdata certificate?
To import certificates go to “Menu / Settings / Signing and Encryption / Certificates and Keys”
Then click “Manage Certificates / Keypairs” at the bottom left and click on “Import” at the top and then select your exported Gdata certificate
If your exported Gdata certificate file is not appearing when you try to import it, then you either “haven’t exported the right one from Gdata” or “it’s possibly not compatible with eM Client”.
So If you have already tried the below import certificate procedure and your certificate is not importing and you have a current active paid Pro, Personal or Business version go to the VIP Support page and login and lodge a support ticket for further assistance. If you have run out of your 12 months support you can extend that for another year via the following link. VIP Support Extension | eM Client
Hello,
I am testing eMclient to change my standard mailprogramm. eMclient is a modern programm I like to buy. But it is very important that the mails will be checked against viruses. I asked already GData. They suggested the same procedure as you.
But it is not possible to import the certificate.
eMClient requires a XML File . Gdata deliver a GDataRootCertificate.crt and a GDataRootCertificate.pem file.
Both types of files will eMCLient not accept.
It would be very unfortunate if the use of eMclient were to fail because of that
If you have only just recently installed eM Client “and are still in your 30 day initial trial period”, you can email [email protected] for initial assistance or general help with licensing etc as per the support page Support | Remote Assistance | License Manager | eM Client
But otherwise as mentioned further up, if you are outside of your 30day trial and you have purchased the program, then you will need to lodge a support ticket via the VIP support page for offical paid support as i mentioned further up this thread.
Apart from that, others on this free community forum who use GData might reply.
