From eM Client POP3, delete mail on server?

Is there a way inside eM Client to keep a local copy of an email and delete the email from the server?

In Eudora, a right-click of the email had the option to delete the email from the server.

I want to keep copies of email local as a reference. But want to “clean up” the server as I am nearing my quota.

I can achieve this by dropping the email into a local folder, then switching to the webclient and deleting the email. But then I have to jump back and forth…

With POP3 doesn’t the mail delete from the server immediately after download UNLESS you have set the account to KEEP the mail on the server for a predefined number of days and/or checked the “Leave a copy of the message on the server”?

Hi @SpicyITC

To delete mail from server:

Menu ->Accounts ->Select your account ->POP3 ->Server settings ->Select your option ->Save & Close

Yes, that is the way it looks to me as well. The default for my install was to “Leave a copy of the message on the server”. Which is good, because that’s what I want to do. I want to leave most of my email on the server. But from eM Client, copy to a local folder, then delete an email or group of emails.(That’s what Eudora allowed me to do…)

Thank you skybat. But please note that my question was asking about deleting a single email from the email server.

I want to be able to access my “important” email from the webclient and Android app. Plus it is another 5 Gb backup of the past five years of my email.

Hi @SpicyITC

I note what you say, though, your original message did not specifically say a ‘single’ email, and yes I am aware what it was possible to do in Eudora, I used it for years until it was no longer able to cope with email of today, a sad loss as in my opinion it was probably the best email client of its time.
However, no it is not possible to do what you are asking in eMC, you will need to delete individual emails via your webclient.
Also, I don’t understand ’ Plus it is another 5 Gb backup of the past five years of my email.’
