There seems to be a huge flaw in em client in that he local contacts folder is read only. I would like to know who made that stupid decision.
How can I edit this f$%&ing read only folder and actually edit my contacts?

You can edit and/or delete them in your online Google Contacts webpage as per @Gary post.

Can't delete a contact

If the folder is read-only, you won’t be able to edit or change the contacts in that folder. But if it is your Gmail Other Contacts folder, you can delete them in the Google Contacts web page.
