From address line

I am encountering a very weird problem with em client
When I send my self an email to my self the from name isn’t mine. It took my a long time to figure out that the problem is with em client and not my phone settings.

How could this happen and how can I fix it. Also how can I view the source code for the email. This should be a very easy thing to find.

If it’s with eM Client for Droid or iOS mobile app, go to “Menu / Settings” and “Open your email account” and you can adjust the from Name at the top as per the below example.

If it’s with eM Client for desktop, go to “Menu / Accounts” and click on your account and then click the “General tab” at the top, and you will see the from Name field to adjust that as per the eM Client documentation & screenshot.

Lastly as @Gary advised in another thread post below, the sending from name not correct can also sometimes be the “SMTP server changing it after it leaves eM Client” as per the below quote, in which case if the sending from name is setup ok in your account on the mobile app or desktop client, then contact your mailbox online technical support to check their end.

The problem isn’t with the sending of the email. The name is correct in every other email client program. The problem is only with how the email is displayed in em client once it s received. There seems to be a huge flaw in em client in that he local contacts folder is read only. I would like to know who made that stupid decision.
How can I edit this f$%&ing read only folder and actually edit my contacts?

It seems that the gmail account was the culprit. I deleted the account and now the name shows up correctly.

One more reason not to use anything google.

You can edit and/or delete them in your online Google Contacts webpage as per @Gary post.
