I did register for a licence, but am unable to receive or send e-mails. I do have my licence number, but am unsure where to re-enter it to see what is going on.

Hi Lori, to activate the product please go to Help > License > Activate, enter your license key number and confirm it by clicking OK.
Then you should be able to start using the application if your demo period has now expired.
