I have eM Client 9 Pro. When I reply to messages, the reply will show up in the Conversation View, but when I forward the message, it does not. There is a tag on the original email that says it was forwarded, but I can’t see the forwarded message or any information about it. Is there a way to include forwarded messages in the conversation view?
That is because a forwarded message isn’t part of the original conversation. You will find the forwarded message in your Sent folder.
Any replies to that forwarded message will create a new conversation though.
Ok. Thanks. That’s contrary to the way Gmail handles it so I assumed it would be the same since this is a Gmail account. Interestingly, if I forward from my Gmail web interface, it will show up as part of the same conversation in eM Client.
@Gary Sorry to revive an old thread, but has this changed intentionally, that you know of?
I am finding that Forwarded messages ARE being put in to the conversation, which, like you said, I would not expect.
Well, it depends on the server.
If this is with a Gmail account, we respect the conversation grouping from the server. If the Google server says your forwarded message is part of the conversation, we display it as such. It happens with some other servers as well. IceWarp and GMX for example do the same.
Free MS accounts like Hotmail don’t include it in the conversation, neither do Exchange accounts.
Ah, right, okay. That makes sense to respect the server.
Could this be something that could become a setting override? Like we could choose to override the server rule and keep Forwarded messages not in the same Conversation. Or is that an impossibility?
I am hoping it is possible to be a setting, as different e-mail programs seem to group conversations differently to each other in other ways.
