Font size - Various fonts

Hello everyone,

I have a monitor with a resolution of 3440x1440.
Unfortunately, the size of certain fonts cannot be changed.
Just too small for me.

See red marks.
Just “1” more font size would be worth a lot.

Greetings…

Angel

The easiest thing is to adjust the resolution of your monitor then drag to fit.

How do you mean that ?
My resolution is set to my 21:9, 4K monitor and Windows scaling is 150%.
Unfortunately, the DPI setting of “MailClient.exe” in the properties does not help.

I do not understand.

I do not know what OS you have, so go to:
System-> Display-> Customised scaling
Here you will be able to adjust; Resolution, Custom Scaling, Text size and many other settings.
It should not be difficult for you as you have said elsewhere you have good knowledge.

I can not help you any more as only you can see whatever changes you make.

That’s the scaling of Windows.
This setting applies to the whole OS.
This means that “almost” all other programs then adjust themselves.
Except where there are exceptions, the scaling of Windows has no influence
That’s not the solution for me.
So I would have to setting a lot of programs etc. again.
This should be adjustable in “eM Client” itself, as is the case with most programs.

Of course, and as a matter of interest what is the size of your monitor?
You are also already running at 150% which is indicative of image dimension issues.
I am using a 32" Monitor & a 16" Laptop with scaling at 110% which is my default.
I have no issues with any of the Apps including eMC.

It is what it is and eMC is the way it is also I am interested to know what other programs are adjustable.

You have to decide what you want to do to resolve your issue and as I said previously I can NOT help you more.

It’s a 34-inch monitor, 21:9, 4K.
You probably have a 32-inch monitor with Full HD (1080p)
1920x1080 resolution.
There is a big difference to 4K.

Whether vision issues or monitor incompatibility Em Client does have font issues that the creator should be addressing, there not new. In particular, Menu/settings etc fonts need more internal to Em Client control.

@K_Shea

Thank you for your contribution.
I agree.

I see now how much time this takes me, setting “all” other programs etc.,
when I first adjust the text size.
I’ll take the “em client” as a model until everything is big enough.
Windows OS itself has too few options.
There is a tool “System Font Size Changer” for that.
Where a lot more is adjustable.
Then I will go through and adjust all programs and tools.
Must cost me many hours of work.

I really hope that it will be worthwhile for the “eM Client” program.
I also really hope that I will stick with the “eM Client” now
and the program does not stand still and is constantly being further developed
and you also respond to the needs of the users.

As an example, Thunderbird, you can do everything in terms of display
change it yourself with “CSS Codes”.
As you wish.

Then it’s not about the monitor size.
The resolution is important and not forgetting the aspect ratios.
With Windows 10 I previously had a monitor with an aspect ratio of 16:9.
Now I have 21:9.
This is something completely different.
The whole thing is not that easy to solve, just with the scaling,
that you simply set it up once under Windows and then it’s over.
The people who still play current games know that it’s not that easy.

Anyway, I’m looking at this now.

You are partly correct but specification way out, I have:
32" Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 LS32BG752NNXGO 3840x2160 165Hz
I bought last year; because of scaling issues I run it at 1920x1080
for computer and at maximum when streaming films etc
It suits me perfectly and referring back to your original post I do
Not have any issues with eMC

Now I am leaving for a long weekend in Melbourne so no more posts
for a while.

Running a 4K monitor with 1980x1080 is a very, very sad thing.
It cost over 1000.- ! :money_mouth_face:
The scaling of Windows to 150% is certainly not quite enough.
From 175%.
Shouldn’t really be any scaling problems.
It probably depends on the graphics card.
Which GPU ?
Nvidia, AMD or Intel ?
Install graphics card drivers from the original GPU chip.
The monitor is connected via a display port cable ?
Otherwise, you don’t have 165Hz.

I’ve had over 5 hours now because of the font size and now get it perfectly on “eM Client”.
Just not via the “Text size”.
I did it with the tool “System Font Size Changer” and then changed it yourself in the registry.
Because it has a bug in the tool.

The changes are to be made here:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics]

I am back today, so to answer your questions and partly confirm your guess, here is the make/model of my monitor and the graphics cards, both Nvidia, and the two laptops that I mainly use:

32" Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 LS32BG752NNXGO 3840x2160 165Hz
+++++ +++++ +++++
Samsung Galaxy Book3 Ultra
Intel® Core™ i9-13900H Processor

NVMe SSD 512GB (x2)
Wi-Fi 6E
Bluetooth 5.1
16"120Hz Dynamic AMOLED Display
NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4070 Laptop GPU

Lenovo Thinkpad P17 Gen 1
Intel Xeon W-10885M vPro Processor
(2.4 GHz, up to 5.3 GHz 8 Core 16MB Cache)
Win 10 Pro Workstation x64 22H2
64GB(16x4) DDR4 2933MHz ECC SoDIMM
512GB SSD, M.2 2280. PCle-NVMe, OPAL2.0,TLC (X4)

Yes, I do use a display port cable.
And I agree the “System Font Size Changer” has a bug.

What brands are the graphics cards from ?
I would install the original drivers from Nvidia.
The graphics cards themselves from the manufacturer could be slightly modified.
It was more the case before.
Download

Windows also does not need to recognize the monitor to function optimally.
I have an ASUS ROG monitor and Windows doesn’t recognize it.

The easiest way is to adjust the resolution of your monitor then drag to fit.
