The font on my Inbox an Sent folders has suddenly reduced such that is almost illegible. I would like to return to Arial font 12
If you mean the font in the messages, it may be because you zoomed out of the message. You can reset that by right-click in the message body and choosing Zoom > Original.
If you mean the font used for the folder, or the messages in the message list, those are set in Menu > Settings > Appearance > Lists > Fonts. These are the defaults:
