FolderHierarchyChanged error when syncing a hotmail account

Hi!

I’m getting a repeated AirSync FolderHierarchyChanged error (see details below) when refreshing my hotmail account. As far as I know no folders have been moved/changed during the sync.

I have tried the repair option on the folder and get the same issue.

Any advice much appreciated!

Thanks! I’ve added the registry entry and turned off AirSync so hopefully that will fix it! I’ll report back if not…

Hi Gary - just noticed after turning off AirSync when I go to send an email it is now showing “No account”. Looking on the forum there was someone with same problem and the advice was to turn AirSync back on. Guess if I do this I’ll get the folder error again.

Do you reckon the “No account” to do with this and if so any advice to fix this?

Thanks again,

I probably had the same problem. What I did:
After deleting and adding the hotmail-Account again, the problem was not gone.
Then I uninstalled and installed eM Client again. Till now it works, but I’m not sure this was the solution.

What I discovered during the setup of the hotmail account:

  • Adding the hotmail-account with the automatic setup, the OAuth-Pop-Up will show up.
  • After granting eM-Client access to my Microsoft account, the authentication window does not disappear.
  • I allowed the browser to open eM Client to finish the setup
  • I closed the Browser-Window where the OAuth-Pop-Up still was waiting for an action (what I already did with confirming the access)
  • The setup was finished in eM Client.

For testing, I also deleted existing entries for eM Client in the Apps-List in my Microsoft-365-Account (Privacy, App Access). But the setup and Authentication of eM Client didn’t change.

When I open the Details in my MS-365-Account for eM Client:

It shows that:

Normaly the settings (what kind of access is granted) are shown.
For all other App it works, exept for eM Client.

Perhaps other Users have the same Error-Message in the App List in the Microsoft 365-Account?

Thanks Chris - I might give that a go if my current fix doesn’t turn out to work!

Like you the authentication page didn’t close or switch me back to em Client which was slight unnerving but seemed to go through ok.

What I did was delete the account and then re-added it but ensured calendar and tasks were unticked i.e. I just had mail ticked. At the moment seems ok (it’s still refreshing a big archive folder I had) so hopefully is fixed now!
