Focus gets stuck after closing window with ⌘W on macOS

Hi,

After updating to the latest version (10.4.5608) on macOS Tahoe 26.1, I’m having a window focus issue. When I close eM Client using ⌘W and then click on another app like Finder, the menu bar still shows ‘eM Client’ and I cannot select the other app’s window.
Is anyone else facing this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

Testing with Tahoe 26.5.1 and V10.4.5608 the focus moves ok for me personally to finder or any other Mac app, and doesn’t stay on eM Client after using ⌘W.

So suggest you try going to Finder / Applications and “drag eM Client app to the bin”. Dragging the app to the bin wont delete any mail data etc.

Then redownload V10.4.5608 from the release history page and reinstall and then “reboot your mac” and see if it fixes it.

Could be it didn’t install 100% on your OS or something possibly went wrong during the install.

Thank you. I tried reinstalling the app, but it didn’t fix the issue. The problem isn’t always reproducible and happens randomly. I’m going to try a few more things, including a completely clean install.

In the meantime, if anyone has any information or workarounds, please let me know.
