I have downloaded my em client back on to a new laptop. I cannot find emails in my inbox from before two weeks ago, how do I find them as I need them back

Do you have enabled in Tools - Settings - Mail - Automatic Archiving ?
If yes then all emails will be in “Local folders”, only way how to repair this will be import of older database.
EDIT: you can also drag and drop emails from archive to IMAP and it will upload again.
