Dear EmClient Team,
I’m writing to request Chrome extension support within EmClient’s email interface. As a current EmClient user, I greatly value your unified inbox, drag-and-drop functionality between accounts, and native desktop integration. However, the lack of Chrome extension support is becoming a significant limitation in my workflow.
The Problem: Modern email workflows increasingly depend on Chrome extensions like:
- Todoist for Gmail (task management from inbox)
- Boomerang (email scheduling and follow-ups)
- Grammarly (writing assistance)
- Mixmax (email tracking and templates)
- Right Inbox (productivity features)
- Various CRM integrations
Currently, I must choose between EmClient’s excellent unified inbox and drag-drop features OR Chrome extension functionality. This forces me to either:
- Maintain email in both EmClient and a browser (inefficient duplication)
- Switch entirely to browser-based email clients (losing EmClient’s advantages)
- Switch to Chromium-based “email browsers” like Wavebox (losing unified inbox and native features)
The Opportunity: Adding Chrome extension support would differentiate EmClient from competitors while retaining your core strengths:
- Unique position: You’d be the ONLY native email client with both unified inbox AND extension support
- Browser alternatives (Wavebox, Shift, Rambox): Have extensions but lack true unified inbox
- Native clients (Thunderbird, Mailspring, Apple Mail): Have unified inbox but no extension support
- EmClient with extensions: Would offer both - a compelling competitive advantage
Technical Consideration: I understand this is technically complex, as it would require embedding Chromium components while maintaining EmClient’s native architecture. However, apps like Microsoft Teams and Slack have successfully integrated web content with extension support while maintaining native app benefits.
Business Case: Many users (myself included) would happily pay premium pricing above what I’m currently paying for EmClient Pro if it had Chrome extension support. This feature could justify a higher-tier subscription and attract business users who currently choose browser-based solutions.
My Commitment: I prefer EmClient’s approach to email management and would remain a loyal customer if this feature were added. However, I’m currently evaluating alternatives solely due to extension limitations.
Would your team consider this for a future roadmap? Even partial support (starting with popular extensions like Todoist, Grammarly, or Boomerang) would be tremendously valuable.
Thank you for considering this request and for building such a solid email client.
