Falling off a Log

Does anyone know the purpose of the Log files that are stored in the Logs folder in your Roaming folder? Can I delete old ones ? - they take up a fair amount of the shrinking space on my C: drive.

FYI, my message store is on another drive (not C:). So what information has to be on C:, and what is left over from before I switched the message store drive?

The log file are for diagnostic purpose. You can delete them without a problem. By default logging should be disabled, but if it enabled on your eM, you can disable the option at the menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Logging.

There’s nothing needed to be on C drive. Even the program may be installed on another drive. Just make sure you make a backup of your database before change the setting. Your database are located under:
C:\Users%Current User%\AppData\Roaming\eM Client (Vista/Win7)
C:\Documents and Settings%Current User%\Application Data\eM Client (XP)

Thanks very much, TNCS - it looks like I can regain up to 17GB on my C: drive !

Ouch! I hope the 17GB are primary e-mails, not logs!

Well, the total was 17GB, and it did include primary emails, but of that total, 8GB was log files. Think I might disable logging as you had suggested should be the default. Thanks again for the help.
