Is there a way to get a confirmation request when closing eM Client? I usually leave the email program running, but sometimes forget and hit the X to close (exit) it. It would be nice if it then asked if I was sure I wanted to do that.

As you leave eMC running in the background the easiest thing to do is:
Menu ->Settings ->General ->In right hand pane select:
Minimize application to tray AND Close application to tray.
Do NOT forget to Save & Close
THEN
When you want to shut down eMC:
Menu ->Exit
This will shut down eMC correctly.
