Exchange synch on EmClient for Android

Hi,

I use EmClient on my desktop (Windows and Linux), smartphone and tablet (both Android). I use Exchange server for mail - amongst others. When I delete mails on my desktop client I see the mails being removed from OWA, but more often then not these mails aren’t removed in my Android clients. Which is confusing, and causes me to manually synchronise the desktop and the mobile versions. Is this a known issue, and is there probably a setting that I’ve overlooked?

Thanks, John

That could just be it’s still synching on the Android mobile device and might just take longer depending on how many mail folders and / or other accounts you have as well.

So to check after you see the Mail deleted on your server end, go in the Android app to “Menu / Settings / Show Operations” and see if it’s synching.

Thanks for your reply. However, “patience” isn’t the issue here. Some deleted mails are synchronised instantly, others never and they sit in my Android inbox for weeks until I manually remove them there as well. Come to think of it: the issue occurs with mails that I move to another folder (again not all mails that I move, but some). The problem is only with Exchange server, other (IMAP) mailproviders are fine.

From memory exchange accounts even in the desktop take longer to sync changes around a minute “due to the nature of type of accounts”.

However If the changes never happen on wifi or data with the mobile app, I would suggest to go to “Menu / Accounts” and “remove and readd the account” if you haven’t already tried.and see if that makes any difference as might be a local account issue that just needs reading.

If it’s only one folder that’s not updating the changes, you can “press and hold your finger on the folder” and “press Properties” at the bottom. Then press “Repair” near the bottom which clears the local account app cache and starts new.

Note: If you do repair any folders, your messages might take a little time to reappear from the server and will be slower to reread till fully cached.

Apart from that check you have the latest droid version from the Playstore
