Using eMClient with Kerio Connect Server V. 9.4 and Mac OS X 12.2.1
Server Protokoll Error when using Exchange:
EwsOperation.cpp: EWS request GetUserConfiguration: error occurred; code 108, description: Not implemented - only CategoryList configuration is supported., auth user: [email protected]
Does somone has an explanation?
What version of eM Client for Mac are you running ?. V8 or V9 and what version number ?.
Also if you have V9 there is now V9.0.661 Mac (Beta 2) available from the ver history page which has alot of updates / fixes in late Jan.
Note:- If you do update eM Client for Mac to try, backup first via “Menu / Backup” along the top.
Failing that “if you have eM Client Pro” suggest to contact support via the following page and lodge a support VIP ticket.

My client version is V9.0.661 Mac. I already had the same problem with V.8. Since then I’ve been using eM Client and Kerio Server with IMAP. This worked well for almost two years, apart from the significant performance problems of the eM Client database. Yesterday, without any updates or crashes, I suddenly had the problem that I could no longer delete or move emails. As far as I can tell, the problem is due to a corrupted eM Client database and cannot be repaired.
There are various other entries here in the forum about this error.
Now I’ve made another attempt to connect my account via EWS. About 10GB of data will be loaded successfully. Then the error happens.
I already posted this about 16 months ago when I was still using eM Client V.8.
The eM Client’s performance and susceptibility to errors are extremely unsatisfactory.
It’s a pity that software with great potential isn’t FINALLY FINISHED!!!
Ok.
I suspect the issue is with the Kerio Server being that it’s been happening with V8 of eM Client “which is a very stable database on Mac and Windows” & V9 Beta 2 from my own experience using “Microsoft EWS (Exchange) or IMAP”.
eM Client made V8 & V9 compatible with Kerio Server to connect, but if the Kerio server is eg: not stable enough where you connect to, you can get issues & sounds like you are for sometime.

Try restoring a recent backup via “eM Client menu along the top” if you have been making regular backups which should then fix the issue if the problem is just with your local database.

Do you have your post from 16Months ago about this issue ?
Also do you host the Kerio EWS Server yourself or use a paid Kerio EWS Server and if so which one.

Hi Andreas,

eM Client
From reading the eM Client Kerio support page below, eM Client will connect to Kerio Servers either “with EWS” or “without using different protocols”. See note below from support page.
So all depends “on your specific” Kerio Server if it has EWS support available to connect to or not.

(Extract from above page).
Note: If your Kerio server or provider doesn’t have EWS enabled, you can sync your emails, contacts, and calendars using alternative syncing protocols
