Event alert times do not import from Google Calendar

Event notification alert times do not pull into emClient when the event is created in Google Calendar. I usually customize the alert times specific to the type of event. I find entering events is easier to do in Google Calendar. When the event is added to the emClient calendar the default emClient event notification settings are applied.

I was not able to reproduce that. I used an all day event happening next week.

This is an event I created in the web browser:

And this is how it syncs to eM Client:

Can you please give the exact steps to reproduce it.

I see now - this is an issue only when the event is updated. When I update the event in google it doesn’t propagate to emClient until I close and re-open the app (and sometimes not even then). I’ve been waiting for 10 minutes (and hit the refresh icon several times) but the event isn’t updating with the changes (to the name and the time).
I think what’s happening is that I get a new invite and it sets the reminders to the default interval. Then I change the notification settings in google and it never updates in the client since it’s always open and I never restart.

Yes, I am able to reproduce this and have asked our developers to investigate.

I see if I create a new event in web interface and set a notification, first time it syncs correctly to eM Client. However, after that eM Client doesn’t show any changes to the notification time made in the web interface.

Yes i also replicated this problem with the latest eM Client version.

A way around this problem I found at the moment till fixed is, (when you change any event name or notification time etc in Google Calendar online), “also change the event colour” as in the example pic below.

Then when eM Client either next automatically synchronises via the “General / Settings time you set”, or you “manually click refresh” in eM Client at the top left, the online Google event will then change to match in eM Client.

Also note that changing the reminder time frame in emClient does not update the time frame on google calendar.

Unfortunately I am not able to reproduce that, and on testing it definitely does update.

Here is an event I created in web interface and how it syncs to eM Client.

Then I changed the notification in eM Client to 5 hours before the event, and when I opened it in web interface, it has the correct notification time.

If it is not working for you, can you give exact steps to reproduce the issue?

Closing and reopening emClient seemed to fix this issue. However, the main issue in this post persists: changing the reminder timing on google after the event has been created does not update the reminder time on the event in emClient.

Google calendar integration is still VERY buggy. I have to unsync and resync the calendar to get it to update notification times. Yesterday I created an event on Google, deleted the default 10 minute notification, added a 30 minute notification, then saved. On emClient it comes in with the default 10 minute notification.

Adding another post about this. I’ve determined that the majority of the alert timing gets wonky when adding events from my iPhone calendar which is connected to my Google account.

  1. Add a new event with an alert of 30 minutes
  2. Calendar appears on Google correct
  3. Calendar on emClient shows default alert timing instead
