Error obtaining credentials via oauth

Attempting to reinstall emClient and give it another try.
Everything went swimmingly until, in the New Account window, clicking [Finish] ran into the error above.

Notes:

  • The import options didn’t cover the Mailbird client I’m currently using.
  • I have a Windows system, so there’s a Windows account,
but the email account is a Google workspace.
  • I’m using the Brave browser, which is apparently a problem.
  • I would happily switch to Chrome for the install
  • The [Finish] button is taking me to a Microsoft Login page.
It makes sense that the workspace credenditals would fail
there, so maybe eMc is confused? If so, how to unconfuse it?

FIXED:

  1. Closed the error msg dialog and clicked the back-button until I got back to account settings.
  2. Saw an option there I don’t recall seeing the first time, for a “Google” account.
  3. It was the default, at the front of the list, automatically selected. 4. Proceeding from there, this time I chose not to enable encryption.
  4. The next window then showed me email, calendar, and 2 other options. (I only recall seeing “email” before. So it seems this time it WAS going to Google, rather than Microsoft.)
  5. Finish succeeded, an eMc is now running.

It is likely that simply backing up and making sure the proper account-provider was selected is the actual solution–but I offer the encryption-change in case in makes a difference.

The Mailbird importer is currently under consideration. Anyways eM Client already has the most robust import options among email clients.
