Error message when trying to open .pdf attachment

Hi,

I get “there was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired” alert everytime I want to open a .pdf file.
Adobe Acrobat is set up as default program for .pdf files.

So I have to open it from the browser each time. Quite pointless to use a client then.

Does someone have any idea how to solve this?

P.S. Don’t know if it’s related, but I often get half-blinded pictures too - or totally greyed-out as if the file got corrupted on its way from the sender to my inbox.

FYI to whoever reads this, just had 1 pdf + 2 jpg files in incoming attachment.
Downloaded the whole, tried to open:

  • pdf won’t open (error message same as previously mentioned)
  • jpg are 2/3 greyed.

I installed Mailbird. Got to open everything as it should.

What would you do if you were me?

SIMILAR ISSUE HERE!!   An email just came in with an attached XLS file - and the usual embedded company logo in sender’s email signature.

In this mail, the logo is NOT DISPLAYING. ( just an empty box with the filename displayed within - filename less the extension)

And when I download the attachment, it comes down as data file of THE LOGO (25kb jpg), but with the filename of the XLS attachment. The actual (1.5mb) XLS attachment is nowhere to be found!

Opening the mail in webmail client it all works perfectly.
