Error message about not connecting to Microsoft server server

We have the same issue. 2 PC’s, one Win 10 Pro connects to outlook.com without issue, sends and receives ok. The other Win 10 Home worked perfectly. Then last week had issues with SMTP, so applied the eM Client workaround and the problem disappeared. Yesterday, with no changes applied to the PC, IMAP issues connecting with the server started, yet the first PC is ok. This is not a MS issue as the Pro PC continues to talk to the MS Sever at outlook.com without a problem. The ports and security policies are identical between machines. eM Client provides software that is intended to work across different server platforms. Responsibility needs to be acknowledged with at least some workaround, or news feed to point out there is a known issue, rather than 1000’s of customers individually querying MS.

I do not think it is a MS problem. 1 PC of ours works perfectly. Another just started having this issue. IMAP, SMTP and security policies are identical between machines.

Why do you keep saying the same lame thing over and over? We all know this is an eM Client issue.

Amen! If the actual issue isn’t emClient’s, the lack of customer support is. They should understand they aren’t dealing with IT techs, but actual users.

OK, just installed Mozilla Thunderbird. Settings for MS server exactly the same as used for eM Client. Absolutely no issues, so that’s my solution.

Hi,
kann mir jemand sagen wo em-Client die abgespeicherten Adressen speichert ???
Ich möchte sie entweder in Thunderbird oder in Outlook zurückspeichern, damit ich überhaupt arbeiten und mails bekommen und versenden kann.
Danke
Knut

Seems to be working fine this morning. I did nothing on my side. Looks like “Microsoft” (or some other magical source) fixed the problem.

Hey folks
So, to recap my situation… Mine stopped working, connecting to Outlook the other day. I did a lot of things people recommended here with no success. This morning, I went back to the original configuration, as I had changed the ports as per above to try, And everything is working now again.

I’m using a Microsoft account (@outlook.de) and don’t have any problems. When I look into the account settings, I can see that this account is added as an Exchange account.

This is my server I use:
https://outlook.office365.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx

I hope it helps …

Antz, do you have local folders? If so, were there issues moving them to Thunderbird?

Hey" Leo3"
I was very frustrated with the Outlook situation and also downloaded Thunderbird for a trial. I have a lot of Local Folders so I needed to know if they would transfer over.
I added an Add On extension “ImportExportToolsNG” and tried to transfer folder which had 60 emails in it. No problem came over with full structure folder name and all of the emails with full content.I was really impressed with the accuracy and the speed.
Good luck! It is a very good client.

Absolutely no problem. As per Ricky2, I downloaded the extension mentioned and all went very smoothly. Exporting Local Files from eM Client to eml files was the first step that went without hitch. Import was flawless, retaining the original file structure.

Ricky2, Thanks much for the info.

Anttz, thanks to yo as well.
