i regularly get following errors for tasks / calendar and contacts
It looks like you have a hotmail account that is setup as IMAP. Microsoft has transitioned most or all of its accounts to exhange. While IMAP will handle email OK, it will not sync calendars, tasks or contacts, hence the error message. You will have to setup the account again as an exchange account. When adding the account, do not select automatic setup, instead select mail and choose exchange. Make sure you use your full email address as the user name. Once you setup the account as exchange, the error messages should go away and all will be synced.

i configured the way you have suggested but still find the following errors
actually i do not need to sync anything except the mails - can u help how to go about it
