EmClient stopped working due to lack of license communication?

After a Windows update I received a EMClient message saying due to lack of communications between my computer and EMClient the software is no longer working. What’s that about?
Do I reinstall?

eM Client needs to periodically contact the license server to validate your license.

If you have a firewall or VPN that is blocking the connection, then eM Client will eventually be disabled as it now is.
