eMClient doesn’t synchronise my e-mails of my “@live.nl” account and returns an error message that the server can not be reached or that my settings are incorrect. However my settings have not been changed and my e-mail synchronises perfectly fine on my smartphone which proves that the server can be reached and that the settings of my e-mail account are correct. Therefore I suspect eMClient is not functioning correctly. Why ? Can anyone help solve this problem ?
First thing to try is to temporarily disable your anti-virus or firewall application. If eM Client can sync with that disabled, then you need to configure the application to allow eM Client or it’s ports.
Thanks for the replay. I disabled my AV but the error in eMClient stays the same.
In eM Client go to Menu > Tools > Accounts and check that you have the correct port number and security policy combination. The ones in bold are generally considered the best option.
Port 587 = Force usage of SSL/TLS
Port 25 = Use SSL/TLS if available
Port 465 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)
Port 993 = Use SSL/TLS on special port (legacy)
