eMClient & Earthlink

Hi all,

eMClient (ver 8.2.1721) was working fine up until today. AT&T send/receive and incoming Earthlink email work fine. Outgoing SMTP email on Earthlink is now broken. Same account works fine for both send and receive on my iPhone.

Checked settings, all seem good. Diagnostic good on POP Earthlink incoming, but hangs on SMTP outgoing, and the fix feature simply cycles.

Log shows “Unable to read data from the transport connection: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond…”

Just trying to troubleshoot. I thought it might be a server side issue, but as I said, iphone with same account works fine.


Ok, got it figured out. Turns out it was a bad interaction with AVG. Why it would affect one email account and not the others is lost on me, but if you run into a similar problem, park your anti-virus for a bit to see if that’s the problem.
