Hello, please install this update, 6.0.23181.0 and check if the issue persists? Are you able to load eM Client’s interface or does the application crash immediately?
If the issue reoccurs while using the latest update, can you please copy the whole error content from the crash report window and submit it to us here on the forum?

Hi again, I’m sorry to see this, unfortunately it seems like your database is corrupt and is no longer-accessible for the application, based on the error it seems like the application was shut-off while accounts were being deleted. You should be able to get rid off this message by setting up a new database, however this will require to have all accounts setup from scratch and all application settings will be re-set to defaults.
To setup a new database navigate to your local /user/AppData/Roaming folder and remove or rename the eM Client database folder. Next application startup will force the application to create a new database.
i have made a backup of my em client folder beforce resetting it, because i though i can maybe at least save tasks, contacts and the events… so i overwrote each file seperately to check when em client will crash and the only file its having trouble with it the main.dat.
is there maybe a way to fix this file again?
i would like to avoid re setting up everyhing so hopefully i am lucky and there is a way to repair the main.dat
Hello Robert, unfortunately it’s not possible to restore the file, the only possible way would be restoring from an existing backup, but unfortunately our database repair tool can’t resolve this issue.
does that mean that all my emails are lost now, my mail.dat is about 4.5 gb in size, and what about the events and tasks and contacts… are they all lost now?
when setting up a new account emclient is completely fresh and i dont find any option to import the “old” files… is my file backup useless?
i am a little helpless right now since i am using it for my business and all contacts and send emails are gone now.
Hello Robert, unfortunately without a regular backup it is usually not possible to restore the data from the previous database folder, however you can replace your database files with the old ones - however as the main database files is corrupt you may no longer be able to restore most of the data.
Please compress your folders.dat and main.dat database folder and upload the files for download to a common file sharing service (as you’ve mentioned the files can be quite large), and submit a link for download to my work mail, [email protected] with a reference link to this forum topic.
I’ll check with the developers if it’s possible to restore some of the data manually, but please note this may take some time, as developer time is very precious to us at this point before the eM Client 7 release.
