Emc update caused problem

Em 8.1 Just stopped working

I have a similar problem but not Windows update related,EMC was working fine until a message EMC update available, when this was finished I couldn’t open EMC and still can’t no matter what I try. I am not proficient with computers and need guidance how to fix this problem please help ? Seems to me that EMC is prone to hiccups, I like EMC but getting weary of problems associated with it.
