Emails missing in iPhone client but not iPad or Mac

I have the em Client on my iPhone, iPad and Mac. There are two emails that are showing up on the iPad and the Mac but not on the iPhone.

I did get notification of those emails on my iPhone and when I clicked on them they opened the correct email. But the email did not show up in the inbox. This very strange.

Anybody seen this behaviour before or know of a solution.

Thanks

You might possibly have “Categories enabled”where the emails are in other category inbox tabs. See the below link for info on that.

Apart from that check if those missing emails on your mobile have possibly gone in the Junkmail folder under your mail account.

I have all the categories disabled on all of my devices, it is the same config across all of them.

On the iPad I then moved the two emails that were not visible on the iPhone into a folder and I could see them in that folder on the iPhone, then moved them from that folder into the inbox on the iPhone.

They were not in the junk.

Then sounds like then your iPhone just hadnt 100% synced all the same folders yet from the server so was not showing.

That could be it, but it was like it for a few days and I had no other emails in my inbox. Just concerned that I may miss emails. I will keep an eye on it and see if it happens again. I have had plenty of emails since and no issues.

If that keeps happening and you have an IMAP, Exchange, Office 365 or iCloud account I would suggest to run the repair on your mail account to clear the local cache and resync your server mail.

To do that, “press the app Menu” top left, and then “press & hold your finger on your account Inbox” or “All Mail” (if it’s a Gmail account).

Then “press Properties” at the bottom, and finally “press Repair” near the bottom. Doing that usually fixes out of sync folder messages etc.

Note: Once repaired, your messages will be slower to read till they are fully cached again.

Note: If the repair doesn’t fix it then I’d probably suggest to remove and readd the account either via the QR Export from the desktop or via manually adding the mail accounts.

Thanks, I will give that a go.
