I have 2 Windows 10 PCs running eM Client 9.2.2258, both sync’d to a gmail account using IMAP.
If I rename a folder in one PC, the emails get lost in the other. Here’s how to reproduce:
- Create a folder “aaa” in PC 1. In my case this was a non-root folder so in fact “Holidays/aaa”.
- Move an email into it.
- Synchronise everything. The folder appears in PC 2.
- Rename the folder in PC 1 to “bbb”
- Synchronise everything. The folder appears renamed in PC 2 but it is empty.
- If you manually create the folder “aaa” in PC 2 the emails are in fact still in there.
So it looks like it’s synchronising the rename but not changing the tags on the emails.
Workaround is to create a new folder with the new name, move the email into that, then delete the old folder.
If this can’t be fixed (e.g. due to how IMAP works) then the rename option should be removed, or at least there should be a warning when you do it !
